Mita and I took our girls to the Zoo today. As we took a photo by the zoo sign I had a flashback of taking my students every year when I was teaching in San Diego. Who would have thought that one day Mita and I would be sitting with our own kids in the exact same spot! Sigh!
Welcome to our life! Enjoy reading about the meaningful significant experiences that make up who we are and what we do day to day! If you are reading this, than you are an important part of our life, so thanks for checking in on us! p.s. - It's still an "M" world! :o)
Welcome!
President Gordon B. Hinckley said . . . "You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of these meaningful, significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be of significance only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."

Teletubbies!
Oh No! While at the hotel in La Jolla, I had to have a conference call. Walter was downstairs working, so I had to keep M busy and quiet at that. I flipped through the channels and noticed it was cartoon time on PBS. Perfect! Makayla sat attentively and watched, but as I was on the call I turned to see that the Teletubbies came on! AHHH!!! Those things creep me out, but Makayla seemed to be in heaven. She referred to them as the 'red one', 'yellow one', 'green one' and' blue one'. Needless to say Teletubbies are one show that never will be recorded at our house. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - of course! Handy Manny – sure. Doodle Bops – why not. As for Po, Laa Laa, Dipsy and Tinky Winky, I do not think we have space for you on our TiVo. Sorry!

Happy 4th of July!
Thought I would start our family journal on a significant day like today! We hope everyone had a safe holiday. Every time Makayla sees a cake or cupcakes she thinks it is someone's birthday and starts singing. I told her it was America's birthday, so she sang Happy Birthday to America. Every day she tends to sing happy birthday to one of her stuffed animals, so with her birthday coming up soon, we have officially started her birthday countdown.
We were going to go to the high school for the annual 4th of July Festival this morning, but with the temperature outside in the 90's we decided to stay home. The Palos side of the family came over in the evening and we BBQ 'd. It was a nice evening at home with family. After watching the fireworks we came inside and watched some home videos and somehow ended up singing old sitcom theme songs into the night! Hilarious!
